I have a friend with a similar obsession, I asked her if she could make me a scarf, but she made me a giant sock that she told me was a hat. I asked what happened to the scarf and she said, "Well this is like 100 times more interesting, no?" I definitely agreed.

St Mary's Well is a small fresh-water spring at the high-water level on a cliff facing Bardsey Island at the end of the Lleyn Peninsular in Wales; the well (and the island) have a reputation for holiness. I was taken to North Wales on holiday sometimes, and took my children every year - it's time I went again! To reach the spring requires scrambling across the face of the cliff on a narrow ledge when the tide is down. This photo is 1978 or 79 - sorry it's rather blurred.

I am going to go out and buy all kinds of knitted socks and hats and shit and leave them all over my apartment in January in hopes that you claim and wear all of them at once.
