I don't know about the rest of you, but I am crazy to see this.  It's really hard to find a theater that's playing it.

My friends all got to see it (with a very tired Charlie Kaufman in attendance) and their reaction was tepid at best and outright negative at worst.

They're film majors though, so they could just be bitches.

I'd heard: interesting, you really want it to be good at times, but it dissolves into incoherence and façade.

It got pretty badly reviewed in the Guardian, and I usually trust their film reviewers.

Oh Charlie Kaufman and Michel Gondry, why do you insist on trying to make films by yourselves? When will you realise that one of you is a screenwriter and one of you is a director, and go back to making beautiful films together?

i am trying not to read too much more about this film, having read rave reviews (from, in particular, ebert) and terrible ones. hopefully i will be able to judge it on it's own merits

I have wanted to see this movie for ages, since I first heard about it during filming.  Unfortunately, I'd have to drive downstate or to Connecticut to see it.  You would think that they would play it in theaters in Schenectady being that the title of the movie is a play on the city's name, and the lead character in the movie is from Schenectady (in the movie, mind you, not in real life), but no.  Fuckers.

I love the word synecdoche so much. It's in my top 5 literary terms.

I am now beginning to realise I may not actually get to see this at the cinema, since the fallback for "arthouse" (or independent, or whatever) cinema here has always been the Dendy, which is unfortunately closing. Not sure if this will actually get played anywhere else :(

What?

Which dendy?

With cake ownership set to C and cake consumption set to K, then C + K = 0.  So indeed as one consumes a cake, one simultaneously deprives oneself of cake ownership.

Brisbane one. I don't actually know if it's closed yet, but it's certainly closing :(

I want to make a movie and call it "Metonymy". Or maybe even just "Master Trope".

Do you think people would go see it?

I saw it yesterday!  If any of your friends are going to see Twilight, force them to see this movie instead.
