I like both The Sex Pistols and The Clash, but I find it a little shocking that someone thinks London Calling is an awful record.

By the time of Sandinista!, though, they were just all over the place; really not a punk band anymore. Not that there's anything wrong with that, I love the album, and the band.
For a lot of people, The Sex Pistols are one of the main embodiments of punk. If you don't like them, fine, but to say that they didn't have a positive influence on punk is disingenuous.

We've got an entire sub-forum for talking about things like significant milestones in the evolution of punk, guys. This thread is for talking about something else! . . . I'm not exactly sure what, per se, but that's a different matter.

I'm not sure why it exists though. To me, it seems like an unnecessary extension to the blog thread.
