There are no strict rules on the use of the term Esquire, and really anyone can claim it for themselves if they can make any argument for being educated or semi-noble.

I was just saying that a Sir Blah McBlah, Esq. is highly unlikely to exist. There are no strict rules because it is a title for people with no other titles.
