Call of Duty: World at War

Nodaisho:
I honestly like the weaponry of WWII games better than that of modern ones. There are only so many ways you can make an assault rifle handle, the guns in CoD2 just seemed much more fun, double-tapping with the garand, firing off the last couple of rounds if you didn't have any targets, since they decided you couldn't reload it, fighting recoil on the BAR/Bren as you mow down anything in your way, spraying down a room of enemies with the PPSh/MP40, I would love more of the same of CoD2, because it did it so well.

MEGABUMP

Anyone got it? Opinions? worth getting from a mixxing point of view? Is it better than CoD4 for competative play? (Multiplay announced it for i36 tourney) Or is it lost without infinity wards as just another CoD2 WWII spinoff? I only played the beta, dunno about the addition of tanks.

Just got out of a CoD4 mix and nobody is wanting to play more since it is 2:25 AM.

Dimmukane:
The best I've heard is that it is COD4 in WW2, so if you like that kind of thing you're okay.  They also felt the story wasn't quite as good, but was still all around pretty decent.

Cheers, I like fully auto assault rifles and fast accurate bolt action sniper rifles though, just wondering what is the tradeoff in WWII. The story mode is a big part but for me competative online play is where the longlivity of the title is, anyone played it Promod or PAM mod? Is it good for teamplay mapwise etc?

CarrionMan:
So, I played the demo. It solved a couple of the problems of CoD4 regarding health, accuracy of rifles, lag, but, hell, I'm having more fun playing CoD2 again.
