You can wear that bowtie only ironically. Maybe add some oldman glasses. This is riskier, but can end up giving you style bonuspoints. I'm thinking like this guy from Ra Ra Riot.

That tie is an irony tie and was, indeed, not styled. I style it sometimes. It also needed washing in those pictures. But anyway.
I'm taking this as a yes to bowties.
