Also, anyone have advice for cleaning a white shirt with a design on it? It got some spots on it and I bleach penned them off and now those spots are whiter than the rest of the shirt.
Oxyclean is good for removing stains, specifically ones that are protein-based, like blood, and also wine and mud, but not really for fixing things like this. Spray-N-Wash is good for the rest of the stains, like grass, but again is not good for this kind of thing. And if you have an oil stain oxyclean will be your best bet, but you should pretty much count on your oil-stained clothing to never be the same again.
Anyway, try clorox colour-bleach (or bleach for colours or whatever it is). If that doesn't work and the spots are really obvious, you could try penning the rest of the shirt around the design to make them the same white. I personally don't much like bleach because using it weakens the fibers of your fabric, but it
is really good as a last-ditch solution for when you bleed on or get mud on white things and can't get it out any other way and I have soaked stained white things (socks, underwear, etc) in bleach for lack of any other ideas, and it always works. So basically I guess you could use latex or rubber gloves and a plastic tub of bleach solution and soak the shirt in it while holding the picture part out of the water, if you're desperate. The plus side is that then you can throw the shirt in the wash, and dilute the bleach solution and then mop your kitchen floor with it. No waste!
