I also thought Uggs were popular first - at least that's what it seemed like here (I know Uggs have existed for a long time, but that's beside the point).

I don't actually mind them that much, though.. I've never had a pair, but they look incredibly comfortable, and I wouldn't actually think twice if I saw someone wearing them as regular winter boots, as long as they were appropriate for the weather, ie. snow or just general cold, and aren't worn with, say, a mini skirt or shorts. I have actually considered buying a pair to use as winter boots, but decided not to, for various reasons. All these different kinds of furry boots, however, are fucking awful.

As for Crocs, they are insanely comfortable (I have a pair for my summer job at the hospital, that I also sometimes wear at home, but it's one of the more discreet models), but it's not like (most) people wear them because they are fashionable, so criticizing them for being ugly is sort of pointless, imo.

When I was at work Friday morning I saw a girl wearing Uggs with shorts that were practically underwear, and a long cardigan.

It was 32F outside (0C for all you foreigners)

That was definitely a Thing for a while around these part, uggs in with practically no clothing anywhere else, no matter what the weather. I think it is passed now. I hope.

The worst part is that they are starting to look good to me because of all this fucking cold weather and the fact that my room is so cold that I'm tempted to start a rubbish-bin fire.

Guys. Uggs were trendy almost 5 years ago. They get discussed every five pages in this thread.

They are ugly. They are warm, and comfortable. They look trashy with shorts and skirts.

Can we move on? Or  like, can we just have general ugg opinions on the top of every page?

You guys, despite having no time in my normal week to logically wear heels, I bought a new pair yesterday. This is because they are BUILT OUT OF SEX.
Pictures to come.

Okay, this is a really bad picture, but I'm not about to try taking pictures with flash and stuff in a tiny dressing room with 3 mirrors. This dress as a Christmas outfit, good or bad idea? I don't think I like it, but I rarely every like dresses, so that's not surprising. My friend who said I should try it on said it looked great, but I don't know if she would actually tell me if it looked bad. I would, of course, not be wearing jeans and Hello Kitty socks or a purple hat, but I don't know what I would be wearing instead. My concerns are mainly the flashing of extremely pale arms and the waist/the way it makes my boobs look (the photo sort of makes it look worse than it is, though), but I cannot decide if I like the pattern either.

Finding clothes for myself that I actually like and could wear is difficult :/

I think it would be super cute, but only if you were really confident in it. If you're all nervous and tugging on it and worrying you don't look good, it would ruin the cute- so only get if you actually really like it.
If you decide to get it, I say black peep-toe heels and a simple choker-length necklace that won't act as an arrow going "look! boobs! right here!"

I like the pattern but not the cut. You seem rather uncomfortable in it also and that isn't usually a good thing. Do you feel better in skirts and nice tops than dresses?

Nah, I don't like skirts either, so I usually stick to pants, but I guess I need to wear something "dressed up" for Christmas, and learning to feel comfortable in a dress might be a good thing. Pretty sure I'd be able to not feel nervous and super uncomfortable in it, but I have a feeling I'd look a bit awkward no matter what I wore because I generally don't like to get dressed up at all. But ah well, it's just around family.

But thanks for the input. I'm a bit skeptic about the cut as well, but at least I have a while to decide or maybe find something else.

I think it looks pretty good great, but if it's uncomfortable, then by all means find something better.  I hate uncomfortable clothes.

I bet you'd look cute as hell in a wrap dress.

(not the cutest example, but the first one that a search revealed)

And if you're worried about your arms, a lot of them tend to come with sleeves.

Mari, you could always wear tights with it, and throw a light scarf around your neck if you feel exposed. I think it is quite cute, but if you are questioning it that much, maybe you just need to shop around a bit more until you find something that you love.

BUT.
Just ordered a jacket.

^That jacket to be exact. Isn't it wonderful? I had to get a fuckin' XL to get it to fit right. But then again, it is a ladies' jacket and I'm not a lady. They didn't have a male species of it though.

RE: Houndsooth Dress

MSG: Jodie actually it does not make you look pear-shaped at all, considering that your hips are not anywhere near wider than your shoulders. It is an illusion, I think, due to the fact that you are small-boobed. It does not in any way, shape, or form detract from your feminine allure.

Hugs and Kisses,

Be careful about buying a woman's size, simply because woman's clothes are a lot smaller in the shoulders than guys clothes are. So even if it's the right length there's a good chance the shoulders won't fit you at all and will look a bit silly.

Man, I wish I had my camera because I made the best outfit a couple weeks ago. I looked like the hottest hipster boy you could possibly imagine. However, my new favourite type of outfit is this:

-Feminine short sleeved button up shirt (must include at least one of the following details: cute collar, puffed sleeve effects, bows, unobnoxious print).
-Knee length pencil skirt. One with only a SLIGHT a-line could also be substituted.
-Thick dark stocking in any of the following colours: red wine, dark forrest green, chocolate brown, black, charcoal grey.
-Plain black flats that have a strap over the top of the foot, or Mary-Janes.
-Silver hoop earrings.
-Most types of bags/purses would work with this outfit. A small totes would be quite adorable.

Indeed. This works out well because I have have girl shoulders. Male jackets are just too big and baggy and nasty.

The built-of sex shoes! My phone couldn't pick up the texture too well, but they're a deep brown tweed. I'm thinking of retracting the sex statement, since they are a little more office-y than that, but still.

I am getting my hair cut since I have a job interview tomorrow. There is a guy who is here and he is wearing crocs. Boy do those things just look terrible.

TERRIBLE.
I am excited to have short hair again. I liked my longer hair, but it doesn't look professional at all.

Bright red jeans generally make people look like clowns who've just gotten off shift, I have a burgundy pair that I love like my own wine coloured son though.

Jeans in coulours other than blue or black are cool, as long as they aren't like bright purple or yellow or orange. But then if you are super, super stylish you can maybe pull those off too.
(If you are super stylish and wearing those jeans I would probably enjoy pulling them off, hurr.)

In the early 70s I wore to death a pair of rich red cord hipster flares.  At the time I thought them pretty sharp, but I wouldn't like to suggest them now.  That said, in the right style, red (not too bright, on men) is fine.

Maybe you could borrow the red 70s cords? Might go over better

In the early 70s I wore to death a pair of rich red cord hipster flares.  At the time I thought them pretty sharp, but I wouldn't like to suggest them now.  That said, in the right style, red (not too bright, on men) is fine.

For the love of everything that is human, pics please.
