It looked like I was going to have to spend the night in Glasgow...

I am part Scottish, from the clan Armstrong. I know this because my grandma has a weird obsession with genealogy.
Liz:
I am representing the clan McAllister, from the Tarbert area. We have a tiny, crumbly castle and a nice plaid. And rumor has it my great great great (don't remember how many great, actually) great grandfather was once Prime Minister or Lord or President or whatever of Australia back in the 1800's somewhere. There is apparently more information on the subject in the genealogy my grandma has but I have not seen it.

Yay! Both our grandmas have nothing better to do than find out where we came from and drink shitty coffee... great.

My mum's Glaswegian. The first thing everyone asks me after meeting her is, "is your mum Scottish?"
