Skateboarding?

I used to skate a lot when I was younger, and I'd kind of like to get back into it now because I have several friends that do it, but I don't want to buy a new board.

I tried skateboarding when I was like 11 or something. My dad bought me an effectively useless board from Fred Meyer that was so poorly designed that it was impossible to ollie on it. My inability to do the simplest trick on it was discouraging, so I relegated it to the back of my closet, where it remains today.
I sure hope you weren't expecting anything inspirational.

I thought the purpose of this thread could be to discuss new tricks learned,new equipment,found spots,etc.,etc.
I just figured that some people here might be excited about these thing and would want to share them.
EDIT: well its cool to see that some of you are skating,into skating, and longboarding.
