Ok, so I've given it a go.  It hardly blocked any ads, and what ads it did block were only removed from the page after it loaded.  Pretty disappointing.

Well, because of the massive conflict of interest you get from using a web browser made by the Internet's largest advertising company, that's not really surprising. It's why I don't use Chrome. Saying that, the majority of Mozilla's funding comes from Google  :-(

You could always try this: http://lifehacker.com/5046529/how-to-block-ads-in-google-chrome . It works like a charm for me.
