FIFA09
« on: 09 Oct 2008, 18:55 »

I know EA Sports games are not really seen as being good & all that, but fuck youse guyses, I bought FIFA09 for the 360 the other day and my mate & I are having a bunch of fun with it.  We've played FIFA since uh, shit, one of the fucking Megadrive versions I guess.  I remember it having three buttons & mashing C C C near the goals.  I know that each iteration shows only incremental upgrades, but it's got the Australian A-League in there now & has updated team rosters and all that jazz.  We're playing as the manager of Sydney at the moment and it's a lot of fun.

This is the first version we've attempted to play seriously on the 360 (we've recently been playing 06, 07 and 08 on the PS2) and the UI update is kind of strange at first, but I'm getting used to it.  The improvements in graphics are very easy to see going from PS2 to 360, and that is only on a shitty little tv.  I'm probably going to be getting a decent HD LCD tv over the weekend, so I am expecting an even better picture after that.

Anyway, if anyone else has this or is planning to get it at some point then lemme know and we'll see if we can get together online. (my 360 tag is "CUT YOUR FACE" because basically everything else I use online was taken already. I put that in all angry-like as a joke and it took it, so I thought I'd keep it)

I need to pick up the PS2 version at some point. I haven't played FIFA since 07, sadly.

(Ben, have you tried the Be a Pro mode yet? It seems kinda interesting.)

Wait so you're letting something that happened 10 years ago ruin your quality of life? What are you, America? :psyduck:

I have tried the Be a Pro mode, but it's not all that great.  It's basically like playing 1/11th of a game.  There's a new online game type now similar to Be a Pro where you play the same character through a season/tournament/whatever with other people, so you all pick a player and I guess that would be closer to an actual football match, especially if you all pick players in the engine of the team, so to speak.
