Here's an idea for a cool art

Check out www.1001journals.com, that's kind of the same idea, though it's more of a traveling journal project than a sending out multiple things project. Personally, I like the traveling idea more than the multiple things idea, so that everyone can get to look at the book/art in the flesh, and there's a chronology of where it's been. If you limited it to forum members you know that would decrease the risk that it would get lost, and if it DOES get lost you can put an SASE in an inside pocket so that some good samaritan might return it to you. That's what I do with my Moleskines (though I haven't lost one yet). And you can register it on that site so that others can see it too. I would be up for participating in this, totally.

My problem with having just one thing is that it makes it harder at the end to have a collage of the art. It'd just be a gallery. But it may be quicker.

The other reason that I'm hesitant with one thing is that it takes a lot longer for all the people to get it, rather than just each getting their own and sending it back, they might have to wait months just to get the thing, and then who knows when inspiration will strike. Maybe I'll do both.

You know what would be awesome? If everybody who was going to the Chicago meet up made a scrapbook page, and we we got there, we put it all together and sent it to Jeph and Cristi.

*cough*it'd could even be the boards wedding present to them. which is only a slightly lame weird idea.*cough*

Newgrounds did something similar, but one person mailed out empty sketchbook pages. It cost about $200 in the end; $177 of which was postage and shipping.

It would probably be easier (and more cost-effective) to specify a size, and then have everyone cut their own pages out of paper or poster board, do both sides, and mail it in to be put together.

Yeah, I'd seen that, thats sort of where I got the idea from. I wanted to send the stuff out because then it would be more of a commitment for people. I think it would also make it more personal.
