i do not care which of the weekends it is, since i don't have school or anything like that. but i think it should be earlier in the month because i was always back at school by august 20th or so. and also by then i think jason will be in school.... so earlier in the month is better.
also, who is in charge of chicagocon?

Does anyone need to be in charge? I think everyone will just make their own arrangements for places to stay and how to get there and what to do.

Someone needs to at least vaguely oversee things, otherwise you run a big potential clusterfuck. If you've got six people each keeping track of a handful of unrelated details, shit'll fall apart.
Somebody should be in charge of planning it and it should be someone who is definitely going.

I think we should just put everything in a thread, like what hostel you are staying at so other people can book rooms, when people are arriving so you can coordinate rides, that sort of thing. Sure, we can name one or two people to "oversee" things but there really isn't anything they can do to be "in charge."
