What are you listening to?
KharBevNor:
Manilla Road - Necropolis
"FEELS LIKE
I'M LIVING
INSIDE A DREAAAAM
BUT MY MIND
TELLS ME I'M...
LOST IN NECROPOLIIIIIIIIIS
LOST IN NECROOPOLAAAAAAAAHS"
I've been aware of the existence of Manilla Road for a while, but I always put off listening to them, largely because of their intensely naff, 70's D&D album art which would seem to offer a listening experience pitched somewhere between Nazareth and Def Leppard, but no! This band is fucking awesome, even through the ultra-tinny 80's production. I've got to find some enormous speakers to play this through. This kind of production was not designed for headphones and laptop speakers. It needs real volume, not fake volume.

^ Now that got me all 80's!
So this.

Oh my GOD. Why did I not listen to these guys earlier? This is so good.

I actually had that same reaction to that album over the summer. If it makes you feel better, I think everybody has that reaction. I didn't listen to that album for years after I first heard of it, 'cause somebody around these parts had made a wisecrack about them. So I assumed "Meh, don't bother." 3 years of my life, wasted.

I also heard about them 3 years ago. This is a strange occurrence indeed.
Anyways. New Radiohead album is going for another spin on ye' olde digital music playing client. It's definitely been worth the wait.
celticgeek:
Guitar Etudes, Andres Segovia. I love these things.

I've been cleaning my room (or attempting to). In that time I've spun the following:
Side 2 of The Best of Earth, Wind, and Fire, Vol.1. So many good tracks on this side, so funky.
Side 1 of Rumours by Fleetwood Mac.
Side 1 of Running on Empty by Jackson Browne.
Side 1 of Shake the Sheets by Ted Leo and The Pharmacists, which is what I'm listening to right now. I really like Shake the Sheets. The songwriting might be not quite as good Tyranny of Distance, but it rocks the fuck out and I have mad appreciation for that.
