just listened to the self-titled EP and new album "empty towers" by rumspringer. proper fun-time midwestern pop-punk. now i'm gonna have another crack at the new starkweather album - got halfway through it the other night and realised i was too tired and it was one of those records you need to really pay attention to.

Oh my god. This song is amazing. Lately I've been having this feeling like I need new music but I don't know what because everything I'm hearing is a little stale as in not BAD it's just something I know...and this is just perfect for what I've been needing. I'm listening to it for the second time and holy shit, I love this song so much.

Yeah big let down. I guess I didn't like the last album (Lost and Safe) as much as LoP either, so maybe on a downward trajectory in my enjoyment stakes for a few years now?

OTOH, I saw them live earlier in the year and thought they were great. Playing to a backing track, but thoroughly enjoyable. One half of the band has been on a few compilations with me so I tried to invite him round to mine to check out my chicken run, but he was off the next day to some other town.

Been listening to heaps of (legal) free stuff. Really liking this drunken-sounding UK rapping guy, Ghostpoet. So self-effacing. Micachu cameo. Semi-random Tribe Called Quest sampling. Yay.
