I'm not really big on Weird Al, but I like Christmas at ground zero, or whatever it is called.

Becuase of the Weird Al mention, when they played 'Teen Spirit' at the pub last night I ended up singing 'it's hard to argle bargle zoust with all these marbles in my mouth' over it.

If you're going to watch Weird Al clips on YouTube, you have to do it right and watch them back-to-back with the original clips for the songs he's ripping off, because he took the piss out of the clips as much as the songs themselves. The lion wandering through the hospital in "Like a Surgeon", for instance, is just baffling unless you've also seen the film-clip for "Like a Virgin" and seen the lion wandering around Venice.

Think about this:  Weird Al's had the same band for 25 years.  His career has outlasted most of the musicians he's parodied.  I saw him in concert, oh, in the mid90s sometime; his shows are even better than the videos.

I do that with Don McLean's American Pie all the time....."maybe vader someday later no he's just a small fry."  I get funny looks all the time. But then again, When I hear Weird Al, I'll sing American Pie.

I'm confused. lol
