For two different sorts of MMO experience, I suggest Eve Online and Puzzle Pirates. No orcs or elves in either.

You QQ about the game you obviously played alot, and yet after having done all of it, every last bit you think it is all rubbish? Pessimists sux. Kill yourself.

Guild wars is an awesome games and I encourage anyone who likes that sort of thing to play it.

Because hindsight is 20/20.  I did enjoy parts of the game.  I think the game is well done, and there are good / enjoyable parts of it.  However I stand by the fact that I think they shot themselves in the foot with some of their design decisions.  (And that most of the end game pve content is boring)

And I never said all of it was shit.

Puzzle pirates is definitely worth checking out, its not for everyone (but what is?), and the game is basically set up where you cannot come away from it without a smile on your face, even if you decide its not for you.

I'll second Eve Online.  It's the most complex MMORPG out there, without question.  It's nearly completely player-driven, massive, and boring (if you're too chicken to play it).  By that, I mean that most people are too afraid to get killed, so they lurk and skulk around instead of having fun.

Chesire Cat:
Eve Online always sounded interesting, but it sounds like a game that punishes you for being low level.  Like the big guys can come bye and sodomize you at will.  Do free servers exist so I can take a gander?

And I play Ragnarok Online, its a guilty... erm... I wouldnt say pleasure per se.  Maybe kind of a release, ok so its a guilty release... no that doesnt do it either.  Whatever it is Im not proud of it.

Alex C:
Eve Online is hard on everyone. There's really no point at which you cannot be sodomized anymore, except perhaps, if you're at the absolute peak of the social hierarchy and have many, many allies. And even then, one must always be careful.
