Koyaanisqatsi.  Sure, the movie and the soundtrack are pretty indistinguishable in some ways, in that at least the movie is inconceivable without the soundtrack.

Ran.  Atonal flute music for the win.

These have been my hipster asshole suggestions.

Donnie Darko, Once and Lost in Translation also had good soundtracks.

Ballard:
The soundtrack to Ran only made it more terrifying. I guess this is a good thing.
