I, um. wow!

This is -not- hypocritical. At least I voted for the office! (It also helped that the other name on the ballot was Libertarian and I'm not really sure how I feel about them yet...)
ThePQ4:
Well, I am pretty sure that she is the person currently in office, and she hasn't fucked anything up yet...so, obviously she's doing a good job. Plus, I've actually met the woman at least twice in passing, so it wasn't exactly a completely uneducated vote.
Plus, I don't really even 'live' in this city, aside from going to school here...
The only thing I didn't mark my ballot for was people who were running unopposed. I figure why give them a free vote? I probably could have just voted straight Democrat, but I wanted to mark up the ballot, you know? It seemed like a waste of paper otherwise...plus, I was in line for like twenty minutes!

Jeans, The PQ4 is using considerably more thought and insight than many voters use in the ballot box. There is nothing that recommends against personal experience and instinct in voting.
ThePQ4:
But if I only know one, doesn't that kind of say that the other candidate didn't do a whole heck of a lot to get my vote?
tragic_pizza:
Precisely. In American politics, if I want your vote, I have to work for it. I once voted for a senatorial candidate because he was the only person who put workers out at the polling place. If a person is unwilling to work for my vote, he or she is unwilling to work.
