Secret Santas -- UNVEILED

<< < (5/61) > >>

sean:
I would love to do this but I am really bad at sending things. as Liz knows. I will have to contemplate this.

(LIZ THEY ARE COMING SOON I PROMISE)

(this is an example of how not to do secret santa)

fatty:
My guide to secret santa:

A parcel 500 - 750 grams costs $20 - Aust to USA
If the present cost between $10-15, that's $40-50 all up.
For some people, this is already more than you might be able to spend.

So if you start by figuring out how much postage will cost, you have a price base and a weight limit. I think tihs is a good limit. Saving money on weight is a good idea.

I reckon a good way to value a present is against something you may already do. Maybe you can compare secret santa to hanging out with a good friend or going to dinner with them for their birthday. $40 for me (in Aust dollars) would be going out to dinner, maybe buying my friend a drink, and getting the train home. If someone spends less but puts more thought and effort into it - it is of equal value.

Tom:
I have no money for anything...

DonInKansas:
If there's a10 dollar spending limit I'll just send 10 bucks.

in pennies.

Liz:

Sean owes me Zebra Cakes.

Also, Sean, if you end up being my Secret Santa the Zebra Cakes do not count as part of the gift.
