Large Vocal Ranges Rare?
KvP:
There's this guy Jimmy Gnecco who was a friend of Buckley's and sounds a lot like him. Has a fairly good range.

I saw them when they stopped in Hawaii to open for U2, and after them, I was basically as thoroughly satisfied as I've been with many longer, great concerts. U2 was good, too, for the record. Had to do about nine encore songs because they had postponed their show for a year.
Don't worry, that's all the U2 talk you'll hear from me...

Jeff Buckley's vocal range makes me feel ashamed of myself.
But then Mike Patton's range seems pretty wide?

The things that man can do with his voice is phenomenal. Moonchild is a good demonstration of his vocal skills.

isn't moonchild an iron maiden song?
but yeah, patton's got an amazing range (particularly the lows - he can go RIDICULOUSLY low when he wants to) in terms of pitch, but also in terms of actual timbre. i dont think there's a single singing style that this guy couldn't pull off.
