Saw, the game (yes, they're making it)

Seeing as, y'know, the Unreal engine has been used in literally hundreds of game ranging from ugly (Rainbow Six Vegas comes to mind) to slightly less ugly. No AA support still sucks, and the engine definitely doesn't determine how the poly count turns out. Physics beyond ragdolls still aren't a standard part of UE3, either.

UE4, on the other hand, is shaping up nicely. It's much more adaptable than the Source engine (my personal golden standard), but we'll see if it's any better.

damn, fair point, i was goin into unknown territory there. though, considering the series, there'll be a fair bit of funding, and they might delay it (might? :-P) to update the software. i'd imagine they'll try to make the best of the situation they're given, considering the amount of people who, upon just hearing about it, think it'll be a failure, none of you doubters thought giving it a chance might pay off?

Given the source material, no.
