I would love to do this.  Problem is finding the time, though.  I am always busy.

I'm doing it. I'm going to aim for as little time taken as possible to actually do it, because I reckon that'll make it more genuine and spontaneous.

I'll need help if I do it.  I might enlist some friends to give me a hand.

at least with 30 days to record an album you have time to like, learn to play the songs (or even finish writing them) before you record them all.

So I wrote three songs about three weeks ago and haven't done anything since. I fail in the sense that I probably won't complete an album, but win in the sense that one of those three songs is really good.
