For Sonic Youth (and Phillip K. Dick) Fans

Trynant:
Definitely going to listen to this podcast.

Favorite Sonic Youth tune? Ugh, that's hard to choose. If I was pressed I'd say "The Diamond Sea."

Favorite album? Ugh, that's even harder to choose. Sister is certainly a viable candidate, but then again so are Daydream Nation, Goo, EVOL, and Washing Machine. I even think Murray Street and Rather Ripped are great albums and possible favorites.

imapiratearg:
Rather Ripped is pretty cool.  It's got some really catchy tunes on it.

Jackie Blue:
Sister is my favourite of their early stuff, despite the claim that it's "partially based on Philip K. Dick" being kind of tenuous.  "Schizophrenia" aside, I don't hear any references to him or his work on the album at all.

Jackie Blue:
I've read most PKD writing and don't get the connection to "Stereo Sanctity".

That song is a nineteen-minute blast of everything I want to do in music. Except I'd put some strings on it.

As for favourite albums, admittedly I've only got four of them at the moment, but I'd say probably Dirty.
