Harry, I don't think that's fair.
I have nothing against new posters, I just think that this one wasn't making a very good point in this particular thread.
It's not as if we're bombarding her with furry porn and making her feel like a worthless human being.
Respectfully, I disagree. While to old hands like you or me having four people in a row quote you to "humourous" effect can seem silly or teasing at worst, to someone who's new to the forum and who might not yet understand the dynamic and memes/traditions of this place it could easily come off as intimidating, aggressive and hostile.
Imagine the following non-internet scenario: you're hanging out with a bunch of people you've known for ages. You say something the group regards as a bit stupid. One of your friends says "Nice one, idiot." Everyone laugha and you cop it sweet because you've known all these people for so long that you know none of them actually think you're an idiot, and hey, next time it'll probably be someone else's turn to be the butt of the joke.
Now, imagine a similar situation, except this time you're the new person, and you're hanging out with a group of people, all of whom have known each other for ages. You don't really know any of them, they don't really know you. Maybe it's a party, and you're trying to mingle and meet new people. You say something stupid. One of the people says "Nice one, idiot." The others all laugh.
Can you see the difference between those two situations?
