Nodaisho:
At least some bands today still do it, at least for pictures. All of the ones I have seen are ones I had never heard of though. Excepting that one band, what were they? All of them were young, really fat kid singing, female guitarist, seemed to be a parody of black metal? Hard to tell on that last bit, though. Sometimes I wonder if all the black metal elitism is one huge joke, tongue held firmly in corpse-painted cheeck.

Ballard:
I'm almost certain it is. If not entirely, then it's certainly laced with plenty of theatrics.

but isnt every genre?
the metal genre is just more humourous when analyzing it.
because everything with them is so over the top and absurd theatrics.

Ballard:
I don't mean stage presence and entertainment and the like. I mean over-the-top circus theatrics. Most contemporary metal considers itself serious business, but Norwegian Black Metal is almost like /b/ in it's ironic ridiculousness.

Yo.

And while it technically classifies as cock rock, if we can slot it into hair-metal, I fucking LOVE me some Motley Crue. Also, Helloween.
