I keep hoping that she turns out to be gay, but my logical mind is telling me no way since lesbian sex is vastly more complicated and potentially messy than straight sex. :(

She needs someone slightly less messed up than she is, not anti-social but socially awkward maybe; Like a computer programmer/gamer who doesn't get out much. Someone who could connect and work with her strengths. And doesn't hit her weaknesses too hard. He can be neat but not obsessively clean (puts everything away, but doesn't dust, or something)

It could be platonic at the start. maybe a strict but liberal Christian upbringing (so that abstinence until marriage goes in, but he still gets along well with the homosexual characters in the strip)

I think he needs a chivalry complex. And insane patience.

Why messy? Just keep licking until everything's clean. ;)

Granted, this would likely result in a self-perpetuating cycle that could go on for a long time. But it would eventually stop once one or both parties passes out from exhaustion. I can think of many worse reasons to pass out though, but not many better ones.
