Umm, MS Paint does indeed have a select tool. Get both images onto the same landscape (for lack of a better term - I suddenly realize I don't know what to call it), and then do the draw-to-select thing. It's not as good as PS, I'm sure, but yer not waiting on your buddies to do it for you.
