Good postrock bands?
Uber Ritter:
Pelican is post-rock/metal, but their first two albums and their self-title EP are quite excellent. Best is their first full length, Australasia, which makes excellent use of crushing riffs and major keys.
Godspeed You Black Emperor! is quite an excellent band, as is Sigur Ros. They are famous for a reason.
Dimmukane:
Well, originally there was a blogspot, which got taken down for unknown reasons and then squatted on by someone from 4chan. So a lot of what's going on right now is him re-posting all the stuff that was lost when his blog died. But he does post a large amount of stuff, including the bigger acts. There's also some math/indie/stoner stuff...if it's vaguely post-rock in some really far-fetched way, he will probably put it up.
Tehz:
I second Sigur Ros.
imapiratearg:
Ef are basically the best post-rock band you can ever find.

Dogg they are post-hardcore, not post rock. Big difference. If you want post hardcore, all I can say is spin drive like jehu.
Also I've written numerous posts in these types of threads on good post rock bands. Here and here are my recommendations. If you want something different, my newest obsession is Neil on Impression. Very melodic and flowly music. But a tad busy. Oh well, its never overwhelmingly busy. Perhaps one day I'll just write a big fat thing about post-rock music and just post that.
And SirensSound is the best post-rock blog. Ever.
