Good postrock bands?

I'm going to go ahead and shoot the elephant in the room here and say that Tortoise are incredibly overrated.

Wait!  I really, really enjoy their first three albums, BUT!  In the greater context of my musical library/listening experience, they are, in retrospect, one of those bands that was great at the time but who, after over a decade, have become a band I consider more "influential" or "name-dropped" than flat-out good.

So I just unearthed a fucking gem out from the unplumbed depths of my collection (I often get music that I don't end up listening to until weeks or months later).  "Bad Vibrations" by My Education is some of the best post-rock I've ever heard in my life.  To the mediaf!re thread!

(I did a search and it turns out that mberan mentioned this album in a previous "recommend post-rock" thread as well.)

They are still incredible to see live, though.

But their best album is easily Red Medicine.  Get with it, people.
