You're a lucky guy-- Terry Pratchett is a British author of satirical fantasy works. Extremely funny. Run, don't walk, to your nearest bookstore and buy a few of his books.

I should probably refer to him as Sir Terry Pratchett, btw-- he was on the New Year's Honours List.

JReynolds:
Not quite clear in my previous post: you're lucky because you get to read him for the first time. I've been re-reading him for the past while, and enjoying his work immensely.

Heranje:
Wasn't that a while ago that he was given OBE for great services to literature or somesuch? Anyway, he's a genius and everyone should read his work. It makes me sad that he has Alzheimer's. D:

Yes, but he was also upgraded to knighthood this year.  As for the Alzheimer's, he's in the initial stages of early onset Alzheimer's.  He says the only difference it's made to him thus far is that his typing has slowed down a lot.  Certainly when I was talking with him in August there was no noticeable difference to how he'd been in the past.

(BTW, read the books or I'll rip your nipples off.  I suggest Wyrd Sisters as a good place to start; the tone is a lot different in the earliest novels.)

nonsignor:
If any one questions the morals of martins situation the correct answer is:

Drop the girl, she has already entered a relaxed limp state (er yeah carefully!)

The robot however could be expensive to fix if dropped, also that would leave evidence of some kind of incident.

Im only saying this out of experience people!
