I think Hanners is sweating. She probably has fever with chills - bad news, but nothing overly alarming.
Dora is gripping the blanket in panel 2. I'm sure it's tough to draw that, let alone drawing hands in general...

well I think CAD doing the pregnancy storyline was just Tim's excuse to add a serious mood to the comic for a while
