Quake Live - Quake on yr browser

(1/2) > >>

KvP:
So I got invited to participate in the Quake Live beta. Basically, it's Quake 3: Team Arena, the last of the great pick-up-a-game-and-blow-shit-up FPSes (excepting Painkiller, of course), for free, played through your web browser. I've tried it out and it's actually pretty solid, they haven't given up much in the way of grafix (not that there was much there in the first place, heh) and it runs like butter, though it is in beta, so when I left my first match against a bot it crashed Firefox. Keep your eyes peeled for it in the future, it beats the shit out of castle defense, as web games go.

I'm going to ask around and see if I can't get some invites of my own, and then maybe some of you fine mooks can get in on it, if you're interested.

KvP:
Hmmm, at some point in the future I may have invites, but it does not appear I have any this instant.

Melodic:
I signed up for the beta as soon as it was announced some time ago. I'm pissed I didn't get in. >: (

Spluff:
Fraser, what is your email address? I have ten invites I can give away.

PizzaSHARK:
Yeah, I remember reading a PC Gamer interview with John Carmack, and Quake Live and the reasons for trying it were a big part of it.  I'd much rather play UT (because UT's better), but it'll sure beat Sudoku and Winterbells for killing time here at work.
