My jaw used to pop a lot too. Turns out it was indicative of TMJ problems; you might be on the lookout for that too. A few months ago at a dentist appointment my jaw got all screwy and I could barely open it; now I can open it wider than then, but it's still not completely normal. Also, now my ears are ringing constantly (but at least I'm not having recurring headaches, another symptom associated with severe TMJ problems.)
