Fortunately the house is still reasonably comfortable. These old brick terrace houses have nice high ceilings and a good thermal mass. Unfortunately when the heat gets inside, which it probably will tomorrow, the house will be vile, and it'll take days to cool it down again (that thermal mass works both ways, unfortunately). Also, the house is really stuffy because we've had all the doors, windows and blinds shut for the last 48 hours.
It says quite a lot about the weather this week that I'm actually looking forward to Saturday, when it's forecast to be "only" 35 degrees Centigrade.
