It may not be right, but there are more tactful ways of handling stuff like that than creating this thread. Like Jens said, PMs are appropriate for that kind of thing.

Actually I found this thread kind of funny.
While I agree we should be pleasant and fluffy to newbies I also think internet people should stop getting sticks up their asses and being so sensitive. This forum gets very sensitive. It's the internet!

Kieffer has a place in the forum as the guy who just doesn't really give a fuck. He's not really tied down by anything, not sense or respect or anything else. He serves a purpose. And he's welcome to be here.
In one of the other threads he jokingly referred to himself as a "board villain", which on its face seems like an accurate description, but really, he's only really a villain to people who are entirely too serious or just new to the boards. He's a part of this board's Old Guard and as such he gets leeway to be a sort of dick, because everybody who's been around for awhile knows his traditional role as provocateur and they know it's not a big deal. Any other forum on the internet is probably going to have at least one of those guys. Occasionally when he crosses the line into full-blown motherfuckery the admins will slap him on the wrist. That's how these things work.
We certainly wish him luck in his future endeavors in medicine / finance / entertainment / government.
