Fuck You, Animal Ghosts
Lines:
I thought Liz kind of ruined that cardigan. I may be wrong, but last time I heard about it, she shrunk it too much or something. It's not pining, it's pushing up daisies.

I seem to remember "I shrunk it too much", "I stretched it back out" and "I shrunk it again".
I have no clue. I think she's the one pining for the fjords, anyway.

--- Quote from: est on 31 Jan 2009, 00:50 ---My take on the situation is that the regulars have basically done the obvious fun threads to death already and are kind of stuck at an impasse. How do we get less serious? I realise I am at fault here too, I just don't know what to do about it.

The group consensus in the other thread before was that we just need to stop harshing on new threads. I don't think the problem is people being out of ideas, it's just that fun threads never get off the ground in today's forum climate. All people do is blog and shout down threads that don't immediately seem pertinent. Certainly, when I think of most of my favorite threads from before, I can't imagine they'd get further than two posts before everyone shouted it down for being stupid.
Remember when jeph used to come on here and literally start threads by posting a picture of a moose and some inane caption? When tania started a thread about how awesome breakfast cereal is? When people started threads to discuss robot dinosaurs they saw in a commercial? It's hard to imagine that kind of tomfoolery ever even happened.
Think of it like brainstorming: the only way to get good ideas is to throw out a ton of ideas and see which ones stick. Sure a lot will suck, but instead of being judgmental just ignore the crap.
OBLIGATORY ADDITION: The cereal thread was actually pretty blah other than duchess. I'm telling you, all of the forum's problems are because she left.

It is kind of awkwardly shaped right now. I don't know if I will actually wear it.
Also, it is not the fjords I'm pining for.
:-D

It's the boys in the fjords
