Ouch.

Barmymoo:
I had another look at the apartment we were looking at the other day, and I saw it advertised on a lot of other sites too, some of which had almost double the price of $380 for that time of year.

Things to bear in mind:
Summer is going to be more expensive everywhere.
We're going on a bank holiday weekend. The world and his sister will be holidaying at the same time.
Hotels, even Jace's magical hotel, will probably frown on large parties squishing into one room and splitting the cost 12 ways.

I'm happy to go along with whatever is the cheapest option, but I don't like the idea of getting arrested for being disorderly. I don't want to be deported!

yelley:
bank holiday? what bank holiday?

edit: oh, i see. a UK bank holiday. i don't really think that will affect hotel prices in chicago any more than regular weekend rates being higher everywhere.

A BLOO BLOO BLA BLOOOOOOO

(oh well)

I'll second Dennis' comment about vetting them, public transport, etc.

Also, I know y'all were talking about renting an apartment/house/whatever. I didn't look at the website you linked, but vrbo.com is a great resource. Found a place for my buddy's bachelor party through there.

Aw, man, nobody remembered that I was coming. My ego is wounded.
