I don't think there is a lesson in this story arc, there's never been anything like that aside from the subtle anti-suicide message around 500. (well, it wouldn't be that noticible without Jeph commenting on it.)
Dora is angry because Faye was hurt. Sven never got shit for having casual sex unless he was lying to get it.

Yeah, I'm not sure that "QC" is really the kind of singular entity unto itself, capable of making such judgments. I get the impression that Mr. Jacques tends to follow what he believes to be whatever is most consistent with the character, and Faye's reaction does seem (to me) to be consistent.
I doubt that the intent of this comic was to serve a Council of Trent to your heretic behaviour.
