Patrick Wilson reportedly gained 25 pounds of fat for the role. He was a skinny guy to begin with, so it's hard to see him being actually fat, although he is out of shape.

Lines:
Yeah, but the weight he gained looked like it was mostly muscle mass in the chest/shoulder area. I don't remember him being as broad in the shoulder, but then again, I don't think I've seen him naked in anything else.

I agree with sandy about Veidt. He didn't look quite right (mostly the wig annoyed me) and he kept going back and forth between an American accent and his British one. But other than that, I thought he was quite good.

Veidt reminded me of Belloq from Raiders of the Lost Ark - he's got the demeanor of a sociopath. They couldn't have better telegraphed his villainy from the start if they tried.

I'm gonna lock this thread now, seeing as how the movie's out so there's no need to talk about pre-screenings anymore and there's another Watchmen movie thread that's been going for six pages.
