Which offstage character(s) do you hope are still part of the cast?

What, going to sue your genes?

MarkTBSc:
Now you're just being silly.

I was thinking more of a strongly worded letter to the Times.

Except that boy-girl twins are not identical.

Okay, let's leave that bit for the nonce.  Suppose female lesbian identical twins decided they wanted to get married and have eachother's clone babies, somehow overcoming the lack of sperm and managing to fertilize one egg with another.  Would they end up with a clone?  No.

We all know from our bio/health classes that our chromosomes come in pairs, and that during meiosis the pairs split up and each goes into a gamete.  This explanation is ... okay, but incomplete.

See, you have two chromosomes A & B that are paired up.  But if you produce two sperm (assuming you're male; ladies, your gonads are too complex for the purposes of this discussion), then it is not the case that one will get chromosome A and the other chromosome B.  Instead, there's a process during the production of the gametes such that the two chromosomes are essentially shuffled together and each sperm will get a chromosome that is part A and part B.

Thus, our twincestuous lesbians will produce someone who is genetically a very close sister and who is also very likely to have severe defects.

And remember that not all the DNA is in the chromosomes, either, and we don't know so much about the transmission of this mitochondrial DNA.

Wow so I voted those who were most voted already without even knowing. Raven, Steve and Wil. There's lots of variety though, the highest ranked only has 20%.

I don't believe Raven deserved to be in the list. Imean, she is one of the regulars right? Certainly not as important as the top 4 (Marten, Faye, Dora, PintSize), but she's one of the regulars for sure. I'd never assume she was to disappear, even if she's getting a lot less attention lately. She was never particularly developed, but always around. One of the oldest characters without much of their own space.
In short, she'll never be third- or fourth-tier enough to merit this sort of "offstage concern" thing, in my opinion.

If someone said something like this already? Count me as agreeing.

Steve is a total classic, and the last twist is just "da awsumm." He has to stay, through and through. He adds a lot to the strip, and not just random fun. He's a nice complement to the rest, especially Marten. I believe he's pretty different yet also one of the most normal characters (QC world craziness aside).
I doubt he'll ever go away, he has an even stronger lasting presence than Raven, and his own sub-plots too. Just because he's not a common presence doesn't mean Mr. Jacques is getting rid of him.

Wil is funny in ways similar to Hanners. We all just wanna see what goes on with Penny and him, right?

I didn't bother voting for Jimbo because he will stick around I think. Plus I'm ok with him remaining a very occasional, one-dimensional character. I'm pretty sure his butt is glued to that barstool too  :-D
