Dude, you can get a full recording set up from Radioshack for like, roughly a hundred bucks. It's not going to be the best, but it's functional, sounds decent and is totally DIY. That's what I do, and it sounds pretty dope.

The one-day thing is just there to spur creativity in a short amount of time. When your one day starts is up to you.
Early start today, so an early finish. I'll start making another stab at this hopefully tonight, and get the results posted by tomorrow afternoon.

No excuse man. I did mine with a battery powered amp and a webcam mike.
