Music you can't listen to anymore

I never thought they were genre-blending super-genii, I still defend them against Radiohead comparisons and I still think a couple of their tunes - 'Stockholm Syndrome' and 'Knights Of Cydonia' - are great. But I went to a gig of theirs in 2003, when I was 15, my first major gig ever, and it was so loud that I've had tinnitus ever since. Now I'm so bitter about it that I can't stand to listen to their music any more.

You seriously got tinnitus from one gig? I saw Sunn O))) front row, no earplugs, and got no ear damage. Are you sure it was solely from that one show?

Firstly, if your ears ring from a gig at all, that means they're permanently damaged, it just isn't necessarily anything audible.
Secondly, I have Asperger's Syndrome (I found this out three years later) and am as such hypersensitive, which probably had something to do with it.
Also, even taking into account earplugs - or the times I forgot them, no less - Muse was still the most phenomenally loud gig I've been to.

Panic! at the Disco, Boys Like Girls, Anberlin, My Chemical Romance, The Used, Underoath, Atreyu...The list continues, but you get the idea. I had shitty taste in music.

What he said.
There's a couple other bands I can't stand, but I also can't remember them. Which is probably a good thing.

I'm a bit surprised that bands aren't getting sued for damaging people's ears.
