Music you can't listen to anymore

<< < (9/10) > >>

ThePianoMan:
I have all this crappy metalcore and nu-metal from a phase in the beginning of high school. I haven't been able to listen to most of it for a while, though a few of the artists are listenable just for nostalgia.

Jimor:

--- End quote ---

I can listen to Kate Bush just fine, but I can't watch her videos anymore, particularly when she tries to "dance". Elaine in Seinfeld is the epitome of grace in comparison.

Can't really think of anything in my collection that I've outgrown or got sick of, but I was always rather picky. Closest is a handful of albums where the quality dropoff of the act was intolerable, but it didn't make me not like the earlier albums.

This guy is NOT human.

I used to be all about Killswitch Engage and the Deftones. I haven't listened to either in years. That said though, I kinda stopped listening to Killswitch Engage after Howard Jones joined and figured "eh, singing's better than screaming".

Heh, I'd agree with KsE. I really can't stand Howard, but I'm not terribly ashamed to admit that Alive or Just Breathing was, and still is, one of my favourite albums. It's the only metalcore album out there that managed to transcend the crappiness of that genre.

Also: People stop listening to Maiden and Manowar? Seriously, what the hell.

Zadorzky:
Girl I was in love with told me that "Gravity" by The Fold expressed how she felt about me.

A bit later, she said nevermind, I actually don't feel that way. Broke my heart.

I still can't listen to that song, I skip it whenever it comes on shuffle.

PunkRockScience:
I dated a guy for an age; he listened to almost nothing but Led Zeppelin and Jimi Hendrix.  Since I wasn't a big Zeppelin fan, he gave me a bunch of it (read: their entire catalog).  I haven't been able to listen to anything by either of them since then.  I'll get over the Zeppelin, but I kinda miss the Hendrix.
For similar reasons, no more Jens Lekman for me, either.

I thought I read something about My Bloody Valentine being sued for ear damage once because some guy didn't wear earplugs.

Can't find it now, so it's possible I am talking shit

I'd believe it.  I saw them at ATP:NY, and they weren't letting people through the doors without having a pair.
