Soulsynger:
Am I the only one who gets the impression that Pintsize is not entirely disliking his situation?

His mimic shows more of a "Hm... come to think about it."- and "This actually isn't all that bad."-like reaction ... Oo

People, we have our first ANALTHRO-PC!!!!!!!  :-o

(And I am SO okay with being offensive here... "sticking it" to WhyNot is worth it :D)

Mallli_kite:
Mr. Jacques is a very twisted man.  It's a very good thing.

Yeah, I agree with whomever suggested it above -- adding the end to the alternative strip to the main one for 5 panels would have been...sweet.

I must now go wipe the morning beverage off my laptop screen.

--- Quote from: Soulsynger on 23 Mar 2009, 00:28 ---Its the comic's characters replacing those of Georg Büchner's "Woyzeck", still maintaining the majority of it's plot.
(That is to say, Hanner's dream is about Marten (replacing Woyzeck) murdering Faye (replacing Marie), who cheated on him with Sven (repl. the Tambourmajor) ... )

--- End quote ---

And here I was thinking of Alban Berg's Wozzeck (Based on Büchner's play), but that'd be because I've studied the opera. When Marten is in the lake, I can hear him, in sprechstimme, crying out, "Das Wasser ist Blut!"

Marten and Faye don't have a child, so we're lucky: about the most gutwrenching part of the opera (and possibly also the play) is the ending:

--- Quote ---Next morning, children are playing in the sunshine. The news spreads that Marie's body has been found, and they all run off to see, except for Marie's little boy, who after an oblivious moment, follows after the others.
--- End quote ---
