Your irrational misplaced hatred of deefhood never ceases to amaze and continues to confound me. Such a strong term for such a harmless great band!
There's so many genuinely terrible bands and awful, awful people continuing to make music that are so much more deserving of your hate. Every individual member is far more talented than any of us could hope to be and they're basically that nicest and most down to earth people that you could talk to after a show.
To have a society against a group of such nice people, to wear that hatred like a badge, it makes you look terribly misinformed.

So you don't 'get' the band, that's okay. That's no reason to hate. Let go of your hate. I'm sure there's people that don't like your music either, but that would be no reason for them to have a club where they get together and wear Anti-Shane badges.

And I think that her calm and childlike voice serves as a really good counterpoint to all the melodic hysterics going on with the rest of the band. Opinions!

QCADS started as more of a joke played on Jens. I just absolutely fail to see why people like them so much, honestly.

I have the same feelings towards Ernest Hemingway, if it makes you feel any better.

That is something I can totally agree with, though he is nowhere near as overrated as Steinbeck.

Honestly, my involvement with the QCADS is somewhat facetious. Obviously as Daz noted there are multitudes of bands that huff larger shits than Deerhoof. I'm sure they're rad dudes, Greg Saunier had a huge involvement in one of my favorite records of the year thus far. There are parts of Deerhoof songs that I feel are legitimately rockin'. The vocals... I don't think I'll ever get past the vocals. And even if say Deerhoof were to dump that element of their sound, it wouldn't be the same because the vocals are an active part of their sound! It'd be like if Silkworm got rid of Andy's guitar solos, the strained vocals or awful cover art. Frankly it's my loss that I can't get past Satomi's voice, and your gain because you guys enjoy it.

So I respect the fact that they make music with a unique aesthetic and they seem like really awesome dudes. I just can't stand the vocals.
