IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

Today's comic was partially stolen from a common wobsite known as "the wiki machine", or sometimes "wikipedia". Notice the excerpt from the sign describing the Tapir.

"The Malayan Tapir (Tapirus indicus), also called the Asian Tapir, is the largest of the four species of tapir and the only one native to Asia. The scientific name refers to the East Indies, the species' natural habitat. In the Malay language,--"

You must be thinking, "Wow, did that guy really squint hard enough to read and transcribe the whole thing?" The answer is NO! I copied it from Wikipedia, just like Jeph did.

Not that this has any significance, I just thought it was kinda funny.

EDIT: Well shoot, someone got to it first.

Except that Wikipedia allows you to do stuff like that.

It's pretty much the entire reason for its existence.

Just so no-one is confused:

plagiarism == passing someone else's work off as your own.

Plagiarism =/= incorporating said work into your own.

And where do you see Jeph mentioning it's from wikipedia? It's aprt of his work, and there's no indication it's not his phrasing, and hence he's passing it off as his own.

I just think it's pretty funny :)
