That's just the consequences of cheapbastardism. If they had spent the money to buy the proper equipment they could have had MOAR POWER without the er trip and utter humiliation.

Judging by many of the posters, it isn't fan service until Hannelore discovers self-stimulation.  One can hope this never, ever happens (or at least is not chronicled in a comic).
