Faye's scar is from the car crash when the full emotional impact of her father's death hit her all at once. It's been a plot point before, with her initial refusal to discuss it symbolizing her inability to face up to her trauma.

Isn't Hannelore's last name hyphenated? Maybe it's too long to fit into Faye's phone's last name field. :)
